Super video focusing on basics, half pass and shoulder in, and the importance of asking for proper bend.
Part 1: Courtney explains how the leg should be neutral and then
Part 2: Shoulder in work. Courtney explains that you need to bring him up, put him in position and then let him carry movement with only small reminders. She explains that you need to keep the bend you get from going thru the corner to begin the shoulder in.
Part 3: Courtney has Mary "slap" the horses side with her lower leg rather then a jab w/ the spur so that he hears the shout and reacts positively by tucking his croup under during his response rather than bucking his croup un and responding.
Part 4: More shoulder in. Half halt the outside rein before you give on the inside rein to say, "stay here". In the half pass she has her start out going straight with overbend before asking the horse to move laterally, He must first be on the outside rein.
Part 5: The importance of the outside leg to get the really good bend is shown. Flying changes. The bend like the half half must be gotten before you ask for anything. Even if its ever so slight.
Part 6: Canter lengthenings and flying changes. Extend, collect and change!
